Spring in Wisconsin means longer days, warmer weather, and an exciting season of adaptive sports coming to Verona! For the third year in a row, Dairyland Sports is partnering with Verona to host two major events: the Dairyland Games in May and the MadCity Invitational wheelchair basketball Tournament in December. These events are more than just competitions—they’re part of a growing movement to expand accessibility in sports and provide para-athletes with more opportunities to compete and thrive.

The Dairyland Games: A Showcase of Para Athletics

Taking place this May, the Dairyland Games will welcome athletes of all ages and skill levels to Verona High School for a weekend of track & field, swimming, and powerlifting competitions. The event is designed for athletes with physical disabilities or visual impairments, giving them the chance to compete, build confidence, and connect with a larger community of adaptive athletes.

With professional coaching, accessible facilities, and a welcoming environment, the Dairyland Games are a must-see event for anyone passionate about sports and inclusivity. Spectators are encouraged to come out and cheer on the athletes, learn more about adaptive sports, and witness incredible displays of determination and skill.

MadCity Wheelchair Basketball Tournament Returns in December

In addition to the Dairyland Games, Dairyland Sports will bring the MadCity Wheelchair Basketball Tournament back to Verona in December. Hosted at Verona High School, this tournament draws top wheelchair basketball teams from across the Midwest for a high-energy weekend of competition.

Wheelchair basketball is fast-paced, physical, and exciting to watch, and it continues to grow in popularity as more organizations work to increase access to adaptive sports. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to the game, this event is a great way to experience the skill and intensity of para-athletes firsthand.

Dairyland Sports: Expanding Access to Athletics

Dairyland Sports isn’t just about hosting events—it’s about breaking barriers in sports. The organization is dedicated to improving access to competitive and recreational opportunities for para-athletes across Wisconsin by:

Providing More Local Competitions – Hosting events in communities like Verona ensures that athletes don’t have to travel far to compete.

Developing Inclusive Facilities – Partnering with schools and communities to ensure that sporting venues meet accessibility needs.

Growing Awareness & Participation – Encouraging more athletes, families, and supporters to get involved in adaptive sports programs.
